In Through the Blue, I explored movement and emotion through abstraction, allowing bold colours and gestural brushwork to guide the process. As I layered paint and followed the rhythm of the composition, the form of a fish began to emerge—fluid, dynamic, and instinctive.

Rather than depicting a fish realistically, I focused on capturing its essence: the swift motion, the ever-shifting path, the natural energy it carries through water. The bright, overlapping colours and expressive lines reflect both the turbulence and the grace of that motion.

This piece is about trusting spontaneity and embracing the unknown. For me, it represents a balance between freedom and control—like swimming through both chaos and calm, led not by thought but by instinct.

This painting comes unframed but ready to hang, with the edges neatly finished and the canvas stretched on a wooden frame. It is hand-signed by me, and can easily be taken to a local framer if the buyer wishes to add a frame of their choice.
